Black Tie Roast

The Impeccable Black Tie

Black Tie recently won “Best Coffee” in two blind tastings against more than 50 other roasters. Reviewers noted that this medium roast was loaded with baker’s chocolate, with hints of caramel and stone fruits such as apricot. They also noted hints of cherry brandy and Guinness.

This coffee is a staff favorite.  Black Tie drinkers report that the mouth feel is syrup smooth with no bitterness, no burnt taste, and a long finish. It’s also our most flexible coffee, capable of standing up to almost any brewing method, including espresso, Clever, Hario, Pourover, and french press.

This coffee is comprised of micro lot natural and organic coffees from Africa, Brazil, and Latin America. 100% Arabica. Roasted to Order.

EARTHY AND FULL OF CARAMEL

Earthy and full of caramel. I really enjoyed the espresso I pulled a great first coffee for my new machine. Another recommended coffee from Deep Cello.

NICE ROAST
This is a nice coffee. I think it is a good espresso, but more at home as a drip coffee for me. The Bossa also from Deep Cello, is my favorite, though of their coffees that i have tried (probably because I am an espresso guy at heart and it is a great espresso).

SOO YUMMY!

I couldn’t wait to get my first shipment of DEEP CELLO coffee beans and were we in for a treat!
No bitter taste, no burnt bean flavor, just smooth feel, with great depth of flavor, and complex taste!!
I just placed my second order and thought I should send my family and friends these coffee beans for Xmas!!

Delicious cup, full, rich, low acid but beautifully balanced with a great mouth feel.

VERY GOOD BLEND WITH MILK

Very good blend with milk and not a bad blend served black. You can check out my more detailed review here:

REALLY ENJOYING THIS

I really like this coffee, I’ve had it so far in both an auto drip and Clever Dripper. Both were great, the auto drip the flavor were a bit muted, but the same as the Clever. Basically I am getting lots of plum or cherry flavors, with a slight bit of acidity, and then a sweet caramel after taste. I am really enjoying the mouth feel of this coffee, very silky! You won’t be disappointed with this one.

DEFINITELY A BLACK TIE BLEND

I know this review has been owing for a while strangely enough with the change of seasons I’ve been drinking less coffee than usual and it took me a bit to brew up a pot. Now that I have I feel like I should of given this coffee more of a black tie treatment than throwing it through my drip coffee maker. Rich and full bodied without any bitterness. It made me long for a quiet morning and some time alone with a paper, a french press, and some heavy cream. It was a delightfully decadent treat in a copy.

FIT TO BE TIED!

These beans smell as good as any I can recall – they have that sweet caramel and nut dry aroma that really gets me excited. The taste as a regular coffee is very good. I get moderate acidity with a sweet finish, good body and clarity in a tightly knit and clean cup. As it cools the cup remains free from any bitterness what so ever. After cooling a citrus note (the subtle tangerine found in the roaster’s description perhaps?) found in the initial taste rises to prominence even though the caramel sweetness is influential to the taste as a deeper layer.

  1. Thank you so much,
I received my order today which was exceptionally speedy. I had an extra bag of ground Black Tie which was a bonus. I had to try it even though I usually grind just prior to brewing and it was a little soon according to the date. I would rate the experience as exceptional. Can’t wait to try it later as well as the other choices I have now. I have been chasing the elusive Espresso Gods for about 5 years now and I believe I have found the right Roaster finally.
I look forward to a long and intimate relationship with Deep Cello.
    Once again Thank You,
